So Much to Do inParadise!

La Villa Bella is a destination resort with many inside the gate activities for short stay guests. For those desiring other types of outside activities, there are Mexican style shopping options, tourist attractions, social events and religious holidays

as well as local

rodeos, soccer

tournaments

and fiestas

that can be

arranged.

We have

available

a lengthy list

of possible

options with

an explanation

and time line for scheduling details.

Most activities outside the community will require transportation and a our driver and guide, so consult with us as early as possible so we can accommodate the request. Costs associated with the special events or services may be paid by credit card or cash -- and cash is always appreciated.

Experience suggests...

that any activity requiring physical effort would best be considered following an extended morning siesta in the pool side hammock ...or after a leisurely breakfast or brunch of course!

Hacienda activities at La Villa Bella generally means surrounding yourself by towering palms, lush vegetation and endless flowering abundance while enjoying a coffee or beverage from a

patio recliner.

...A full body massage from our masseuse may be in order before you consider exerting too much energy...

Whale Watching Up Close!

Plan your visit in mid-November through March to enjoy the majestic whale watching available very close to La Villa Bella, off the point of Costa Custodio. Whales are often even 'touchable' during the prime season.

In addition to whales, the excursion will often find schools of dolphins, manta rays, and an occasional spotted whale shark.

Observing Sea Turtle Migration, Nesting and Hatching in Mexico

Playa Las Tortugas, just across the estuary south from La Villa Bella on the mangrove mudflats, is the home of a migratory bird preserve and the location of the public/government supported Sea Turtle Protection Camp that extends for miles along the coast. Turtle Conservatory Organizations host public preservation, protection and release programs annually for sea turtle hatchlings and are available for public participation.

The optimum time for observing the hatching season in Mexico is late August, September, October and may extend into November pending environmental factors.

Some turtle sanctuaries (Playa Las Tortugas / La Villa Bella) may keep the newly hatched infants in sanctuary protection for a few weeks (3-4) so they gain strength before ocean release, usually after sun set.

A local notice will generally advise villa guests, and others of a pending release.  Reserve early for a desired vacation date.

Dear Jossie,

You were so right! My kids (and us as well) LOVED the turtle release at Playa Las Tortugas!  It was worth the cost of the whole trip!. We  also saw two hump backed whales just off the point on our way back to the villa. Awesome.
